Tucked into the labyrinth of Post Alley, the Market Theater has been the home of Seattle’s most-respected improv companies, Unexpected Productions, for over 25 years. The talented cast puts on shows like “Cannibal! The Musical!”, a song and dance show about America’s only proven cannibal, “Scarecrow for Hire”, a spoof on the Wizard of Oz, or just does improv the old-school way: by taking audience suggestions.
The theater claims that all shows are for all ages (though they’d give an average rating of PG-13), and with prices being only about $12 per show, you can afford to take the whole family. Adults can enjoy some time in their 21-and-over lounge before the performance. Of course everyone–young or old–can enjoy the sights of Seattle’s infamous gum wall, which will be eye candy for you while you wait in line.
