Granite Curling Club

A sport that will baffle onlookers from warmer climates, curling involves delivering 42-pound granite stone down a 146-foot long ice sheet while players manically sweep brooms in front of the stone to try to alter its course. The goal is to get your teams stones closest to the “house” at the other end of the ice, while hoping your opponents don’t knock you out with their next shot.

The Granite Curling Club in Seattle is an excellent facility for amateur and expert curlers alike. There is no curling in July and August, but the rest of the year there are many leagues, bonspiels (competitions) and open houses where you can check out the sport.
