Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood is full of odd and interesting sculptures, such as the Fremont Troll. But one of the most popular is Waiting for the Interurban, which depicts 5 people and a dog waiting for the Interurban rail line which used to connect downtown Seattle with its neighborhoods.
The sculpture is wildly popular with neighbors, who decorate and dress the people in various attire and messages. Sometimes they are wearing goofy clothes, sometimes they are wishing someone a happy birthday or farewell, and sometimes they are promoting a cause. It changes all the time, so check it out each time you are there to see the latest creative ideas. If you are ambitious and they are not already dressed, why not add to the fun?
