Don’t put that bike away just yet! There’s still a lot of beautiful days left before winter sets in, so how about cycling for a good cause? This year marks the 25th Anniversary of SHAG – Senior Housing Assistance Group – and to celebrate, they’re putting on their very first “Spokes for Folks” – a fundraiser to support affordable senior housing in the Puget Sound area.
Riders can choose from a 10K, 25K or 75K route on the Interurban Trail that spans from North Seattle to Everett. The starting times will be staggered, depending on the length of your chosen ride. Everyone will start and end at the New Haven Residential Community in the Bitter Lake neighborhood of North Seattle. Afterwards, participants will enjoy a scrumptious BBQ, along with prizes for all sorts of things, including the best team costume and youngest rider.
And, if you’re not in the mood to ride, don’t worry, you can create a virtual team and raise funds or donate to SHAG’s Community Life Foundation, too.
