Major League Soccer found an enthusiastic home in Seattle a couple years ago with a new expansion team, Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders play in front of sold-out crowds at Qwest Field and have been setting MLS league attendance records regularly.
Fans of international soccer will recognize the rowdy atmosphere, but for the uninitiated, be prepared for loud songs and chants to show your support. Sounders fans don’t need no stinkin’ vuvuzelas, and the raucous chants are led by the fans at the south end of the stadium called “The Brougham End.” If you become a diehard Sounders fan, groups like the Emerald City Supporters or Gorilla FC are where you want to be.
