Every year, the Pacific Northwest Ballet company puts on a performance of the Nutcracker. Each act is more fantastic than the last, with sugarplum fairies, evil rats, dancing snowflakes, whirling dervishes (whatever those are), and of course Clara and the Nutcracker themselves.
This classic ballet is only made better by the atmosphere of McCaw Hall, with it’s grand staircases, floor-to-ceiling windows, and modern architecture. You can make a fancy night of it by dressing up and sipping champagne during the intermissions.
Everyone has their own favorite scene–mine being the Chinese tiger and his attendants. What will yours be?
