If you’ve ever owned or used a personal computer, chances are you’ve used software developed by Microsoft right here in the Seattle area. The titan of the Seattle technology industry is headquartered at their campus in Redmond, Washington, and hosts visitors at the Microsoft Visitor Center.
It is not a large museum, but you get a chance to explore the history of the company and the computing industry. They also highlight the company’s current and future technologies in fun and interactive displays. Round out your visit with a stop at the Company Store, where you can pick up a wide array of Microsoft-branded items and gear. The discounted software at the store is restricted to employees, so you’ll have to find yourself a ‘Softie to help out if you are craving new bits for your PC.
Tech geeks can make a day of it by including other stops on the Seattle Tech Tour as well.
