Seattle is a hilly city, surrounded by water and mountains, so there are many viewpoints to get a great view of the Seattle skyline. Perhaps none are more photographed than the view from Kerry Park on Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill. The park offers a perfect view of downtown Seattle on the left and Elliott Bay on the right, with Mt. Rainier looming large in the distance right over Safeco Field and Qwest Field.
The viewpoint is easy to get to, just north of downtown Seattle, and offers that perfect Seattle postcard photo opportunity night or day. (Personally I really like the night view from here.) It is worth a return trip to see both views. The amazing thing about this view is just how far you are from Mt. Rainier. “The Mountain,” as Seattlites refer to it, is actually 60 miles away from downtown Seattle, but it still looms large over the Seattle skyline. Don’t forget your camera!
