This Sunday–October 17th–is the Glass Pumpkin Patch showing at the Alki Beach Bathhouse in West Seattle. Every year, the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio creates enough glass pumpkins to make an entire patch, which is then open to the public for a free art show. (Warning: Do not try to carve the glass pumpkins.)
Glassblowing is one of the region’s claims to fame, what with the museum in Tacoma, and the many installations by the infamous Dale Chihuly. This is your chance to add a piece to your collection–prices start at just $35, or you can grab one of their “2010 Signature Pumpkins”. If you can’t make it out to West Seattle this weekend, the patch will be moving to Tacoma on the 23rd, and to Puyallup on the 30th.
