We were all disappointed when the historic Pioneer Square location closed last year, but have you been to the new Elliott Bay Books yet? It has all of the charm of the original, except with less creaky stairs.
One of the main benefits of its new spot on Capitol Hill is that there is now customer parking, the cost of which can be validated with purchase. This is a good thing, because we all know how finding a spot on the hill can be a huge pain, plus you’re guaranteed to leave with a bag full of employee-recommended titles anyway.
It’s easy to spend a whole day here, especially when there are so many cozy nooks and crannies in which to settle, including the cafe that serves espresso, wine, beer, sandwiches, crepes, and pastries. Make sure you check their list of upcoming events, where you can bring the kids for storytime, join a book discussion group, or listen to authors talk about their books.
The only thing missing is the view of Elliott Bay…
