There’s nothing that is more Pacific Northwest than the salmon returning to spawn each fall. No matter where you go to check out this miraculous feat, it’s always a remarkable sight to see. If you are looking for a unique viewing experience, why not check out the Cedar River Salmon Journey? Each Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of October, volunteer naturalists will be stationed at four different viewing sites along the Cedar River to answer your questions and supply onlookers with interesting facts and trivia about the salmon’s return journey.
Whether you choose Jones Park, Cedar River Park, Landsburg Park or Cavanaugh Pond Natural Area, you’re trip will be well worth it! The Cedar River plays host to Coho, Chinook, Sockeye and other varieties of fish, and you’ll get the chance to learn all about the salmon’s life cycle and habitat needs. The whole adventure is free and fun for the whole family.
Hope to see you by the side of the river.
