Another fantastic neighborhood fest coming up this weekend is the Ballard SeafoodFest. Ballard was, and still is, the heart of Seattle’s Scandinavian and maritime history, and this fest celebrates both on July 9-10, 2011.
The festival features tons of vendors with food, goods and activities, with an emphasis on the seafood part, of course! They’ve got two separate stages with live entertainment, one of the kiddies and another for us older folks. There is also a special salmon BBQ cooked by local workers from the maritime industry, viking helmets of all varieties, plus a Lutefisk Eating Content for the real Scandinavians (or just the really brave!) in the crowd.
